Virtual Roundtable with SMME's

The Western Cape Provincial Parliament will host a virtual roundtable engagement with small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) on Friday, 29 September, at 14:00. The theme for the event: Propelling SMMEs as key economic drivers in the Western Cape.

The engagement will include presentations on the role of the Standing Committee on Finance, Economic Opportunities and Tourism in propelling SMMEs as key economic drivers, the role of SMMEs in relation to tourism and the Economic Growth SMME Support Programme of the City of Cape Town.

Delegates from SMMEs in the Western Cape will share their experiences, specifically relating to the:

• Impact of continued energy crisis on SMMEs in the tourism sector;
• Measures taken by the sector to insulate itself against the current energy crisIs;
• Lingering impact of Covid-19 and strategies to overcome or remedy;
• Impact of rising inflation on domestic tourism; and
• Strategies that can be employed to stimulate domestic and foreign tourism in the Western Cape.
