(1) When does the lease agreement between the Wesley Methodist Church in Salt River and his Department end for the property on which the Wesley Practising School is operating;
(2) whether the lease agreement will be renewed; if so, what are the relevant details; if not;
(3) whether it will be up for sale to his Department; if so,
(4) whether his Department will purchase the property; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
1. My department has informed me of the following:
(1) This lease expired in November 2022. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is currently leasing the property on a month-to-month basis.
(2) We have requested a 5-year renewal with the same terms and conditions as the previous lease. This is currently being negotiated.
(3) The WCED is investigating the option for the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) to purchase the property.
(4) The option will be considered before a decision is made.
