The Standing Committee on Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament will consider the Marine Oil Pollution (Preparedness, Response and Cooperation) Bill [B 10B–2022] (NCOP) as part of its constitutional responsibilities.

 

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Marine Oil Pollution (Preparedness, Response and Cooperation) Bill [B 10B–2022] (NCOP) is to give effect to the International Convention on Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Cooperation, 1990; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

 

SUBMISSIONS

  • Those interested in engaging with the Standing Committee may submit written submissions (email: jcoetzee@wcpp.gov.za) or make oral submissions by sending voice notes on WhatsApp (cellphone number: 082 921 2242), and they may also request to appear before the Committee to make oral presentations.
  • All submissions and requests to appear before the Standing Committee must reach the Standing Committee by no later than 24 January 2025.
