With regard to the proposed hospital in Guguletu that is to be built on land that was up until recently actively and frequently used by the community:

  1. Why was land that was already in use earmarked for the building of the new hospital;
  2. whether any other pieces of land were considered for the building of the new hospital; if not, why not;
  3. (a) when will the building of the new hospital commence, (b) how much will the building of the new hospital cost and (c) where are these funds for the new hospital coming from?

The Department of Infrastructure is not the implementing agent for the hospital about which information is requested. The question should therefore be referred to the Minister of Health and Wellness.
