Briefing on challenges and progress with regards to:

• Expenditure on Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) funding
• Creditor and debtor management measures

09:30 -  10:00 – Briefing by the Department of Human Settlements and the Breede Valley Municipality on the Rawsonville  and the Transhex Housing Projects on:

1. The Rawsonville Housing Project in Rawsonville
   • Current and future project plans for creating housing opportunities for the elderly, disabled and child headed households
   • Medium to long term incremental in situ housing development plans which do not require the relocation of farmworkers, back yard dwellers and informal settlements from the area.
   • Measures instituted to determine the credibility of the Housing Demand Database
2. The Transhex Housing Project in Robertson
   • The 8280 units to be implemented in Worcester in the 2016/2017 Financial year
   • Discussion on the different housing programmes that will be used in the project
   • Challenges experienced in terms of the implementation of water and sanitation
   • Measures instituted to determine the credibility of the Housing Demand Database
