Western Cape Appropriation Bill 2016

After the provincial budget was tabled in the provincial parliament by Finance Minister Ivan Meyer on 3 March, the budgetary process continues with meetings of the various standing committees to consider the different budgets votes of the portfolios in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill [B2-2016]. These committee meetings are scheduled from 7 to 16 March.

 

At the Sitting of the House on 17 March the principle of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill will be considered, also known as the Second Reading. During Sittings on 18, 29 and 30 March the ministers responsible for the various votes will open the debates after which Members will deliberate the specific budgets. The process will culminate on 30 March, when Members will finalise the budget.
