Service delivery cluster to conduct oversight visits in Overberg

The service delivery cluster of standing committees of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament will conduct oversight visits to institutions in the Overberg from 23 to 27 May.

 

This cluster consists of the following standing committees: Human Settlements; Finance; Local Government; Transport and Public Works; Environmental Affairs and Development Planning, and Economic Opportunities, Tourism and Agriculture. The joint visit week is a key mechanism established by the Western Cape Provincial Parliament to achieve its constitutional oversight mandate within the province. It is intended to ensure that Members of the Provincial Parliament, through its standing committees, continuously remain abreast of developments and service delivery issues in the province.

 

It will also afford the cluster the opportunity to undertake oversight visits and interact with communities and institutions in order to assess the needs and challenges they experience.

 

The following oversight visits will form part of the programme:

 

24 May:

25 May:

08:00-10:30         Caledon Traffic Centre

10:45-13:15         Caledon Provincial Hospital

15:15-17:15         Abagold, Hermanus

 

26 May:

08:00-11:45         Overstrand Municipality, Hermanus

13:15-15:15         Mount Pleasant (IRDP) Housing Project, Hermanus

15:30-17:30         Hawston Primary School

 

27 May:

08:00-10:00         Thusong Centre, Grabouw

10:15-12:15         Theewaterskloof Thusong Centre
