Municipalities in the Western Cape
The Western Cape is divided into one metropolitan municipality, City of Cape Town, five district municipalities, and 24 local municipalities, namely:
a. Cape Winelands District Municipality which is divided into the Breede Valley Local Municipality, Drakenstein Local Municipality, Langeberg Local Municipality, Stellenbosch Local Municipality and Witzenberg Local Municipality;
b. Central Karoo District Municipality which is divided into the Beaufort West Local Municipality, Laingsburg Local Municipality and Prince Albert Local Municipality;
c. Eden District Municipality which is divided into Bitou Local Municipality, George Local Municipality, Hessequa Local Municipality, Kannaland Local Municipality, Knysna Local Municipality, Mossel Bay Local Municipality and Oudtshoorn Local Municipality;
d. Overberg District Municipality which is divided into Cape Agulhas Local Municipality, Overstrand Local Municipality, Swellendam Local Municipality and Theewaterskloof Local Municipality; and
e. West Coast District Municipality which is divided into Bergrivier Local Municipality, Cederberg Local Municipality, Matzikama Local Municipality, Saldanha Bay Local Municipality and Swartland Local Municipality.
