2. Purpose of meeting

The purpose of the meeting is to receive a briefing from the WCPP Legal Support Unit regarding the matters on the meeting agenda. Thereafter, Rules Committee members will be expected to engage their party members on the content of the briefing in order for the Rules Committee to resolve a formal position on the agenda items, when it next convenes.

3. Briefing by the Legal Support Unit on issues of constitutionality in respect of the:–

• Draft Legislative Sector Bill;
• Financial Management of Parliament and Provincial Legislatures Act; and
• Draft memorandum of understanding for the legislative sector
