SUMMARY OF PARLIAMENTARY ACTIVITIES FOR 31 MARCH TO 4 APRIL 2025

 

MONDAY, 31 MARCH

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development will meet virtually to deliberate on Vote 14: Local Government, as outlined in the Schedule of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025, after the which the committee will consider and adopts its report on the vote.

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Police Oversight, Community Safety, Cultural Affairs, and Sport will meet virtually to be briefed by the Department of Cultural and Sport on Vote 13: Cultural Affairs and Sport in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025 after which the Committee will consider and adopt its Report on the Vote.

 

14:00 The Standing Committee on Education will meet virtually to be briefed by the Department of Education on Vote 5: Education in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025 after which the Committee will consider and adopt its Report on the Vote.

 

14:00 The Standing Committee on Mobility will meet virtually with the Minister of Mobility, and the Western Cape Mobility Department to deliberate on Vote 8: Mobility, in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025, whereafter it will consider and adopt its Committee Report on the Vote.

 

TUESDAY, 1 APRIL

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism will meet virtually with the Minister of Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism and the Department of Economic Development and Tourism to deliberate on Vote 12: Economic Development and Tourism, in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025, whereafter it will consider and adopt its Committee Report on the Vote.

 

09:00 The Standing Committee on Social Development will meet virtually to be briefed by the Department of Social Development on Vote 7: Social Development in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill,2025 after which the Committee will consider and adopt its Report on the Vote.

 

14:00 The Standing Committee on Police Oversight, Community Safety, Cultural Affairs, and Sport will meet virtually to be briefed by the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety on Vote 4: Police Oversight and Community Safety in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025 after which the Committee will consider and adopt its Report on the Vote.

 

WEDNESDAY, 2 APRIL

 

10:00 The Parliamentary Oversight Committee will meet virtually to deliberate and hold a public hearing on Vote 2: Provincial Parliament, as outlined in the Schedule of the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025. Following this, the Committee will consider and adopt its Report on the Vote.

 

14:00 The Standing Committee on Premier and Constitutional Matters will be hosting an in-person workshop to discuss the shortlist criteria for the Western Cape Commissioner for Children.

 

14:00 The Standing Committee on Infrastructure will meet virtually with the Minister of Infrastructure to deliberate on Vote 10: Infrastructure, in the Schedule to the Western Cape Appropriation Bill, 2025, whereafter it will consider and adopt its Committee Report on the Vote.

 

THURSDAY, 3 APRIL

 

08:00 The Budget Committee will meet virtually to consider and adopt its Draft Committee Report on the Western Cape Appropriation Bill [B2- 2025]. Furthermore, the Committee will also consider and adopt its Draft Committee Minutes of the meeting held on 26 March 2025.
