MONDAY, 12 MAY

TUESDAY, 13 MAY

 

08:00 The Standing Committee on Finance will hold interviews of candidates to fill the vacancy on the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

 

13:00 The Standing Committee on Education will conduct an oversight visit to Paulus Joubert Secondary School in Paarl.

 

18:00 The Standing Committee on Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism and the Standing Committee on Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning will hold a joint meeting virtually (MS Teams) and will be briefed by the California State Assembly on the recent wildfires in California after which there will be deliberation with the California State Assembly on how California and the Western Cape manage their respective fire seasons. The last point of discussion with the California State Assembly will be on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Western Cape Department of Agriculture and the California Department of Food and Agriculture.

WEDNESDAY, 14 MAY

 

09:00 The Budget Committee will meet virtually with the Provincial Treasury to engage it on the third quarter performance (financial and non-financial) of the Western Cape Government for the 2024/25 financial year.

13:00 The agenda for the meeting of the Public Accounts Committee includes a briefing by the Department of Social Development on the development of a mechanism to mitigate the impact of the risk of increased household hunger in many communities within the Western Cape.

09:00 The Standing Committee on Police Oversight, Community Safety, Cultural Affairs and Sport will meet in Committee Room 2 to consider the Western Cape Public Library Services Bill [B1-2025].

09:00 The Standing Committee on Mobility will meet in-person with the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa on its Service Level Plan for the Western Cape, and its strategies/plans to improve services and rail efficiency across all districts in the Western Cape, including the Metro.
