(1) Whether any work has already been done regarding the proposed Western Bypass for Stellenbosch; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details;
(2) (a) what is the estimated cost of the project and (b) how will the proposed budget cuts by the central fiscus influence the project;
(3) whether the project can proceed with less costly preparatory work during this period of forced budget cuts; if not, why not; if so, what are the relevant details?
Answer Body:
(1) The Department of Transport and Public Works has not done any work regarding the proposed Western Bypass for Stellenbosch as upgrading of the existing provincial routes to and from Stellenbosch has a higher priority.
